Elaine McCann has many years of experience as an educator, and has taught elementary, middle and high school students, with a primary focus on learning strategies and content enhancement. She also worked as co-teacher and support facilitator in the areas of reading and language arts. Elaine embodies a passion for including students with disabilities into the general education setting, so they become the beneficiaries of research-based best practices and sound instruction. Elaine was a National Board Certified Teacher and spent several summers as a National Board trainer of assessors. She has been a SIM professional developer for over 18 years.
As a FIN facilitator, she takes the time to provide meaningful supports and opportunities to teachers, school and district administrators and families of students with disabilities. Elaine is supportive, kind-hearted, and energizing, as she matches her expertise with cheer and laughter. The Florida Inclusion Network is fortunate to have Elaine in the capacity of building relationships with district and school personnel, with passion, diligence and kind-heartedness as the recipe for positive change.
